SAFEGUARDING VULNERABLE ADULTS

In September 2011, Lisburn City Council launched its own independent Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Policy.

Lisburn City Council's Vulnerable Adults Safeguarding Policy has been developed by the Council's Child Protection and Vulnerable Adults Working Group with the support of expert advice from the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust.

It applies to all employees and volunteers irrespective of their function, remit or role within the Council. With a designated vulnerable adults protection officer, the Council will embrace best practice in this area.

The policy document outlines the Council's commitment to uphold the right for adults to live a life free from abuse and exploitation and it is explicit about the Council's zero tolerance of abuse, wherever it occurs. To download a copy of the policy click here.
